MUSJID AL-BURAQ

MUSJID AL-BURAQ
  • Musjid Al-Buraq is situated in the southwest corner of the Al Aqsa compound. The Buraq is the magnificent animal that carried the Prophet ﷺ on his journey from Makkah to Jerusalem and then to the heavens. The Musjid has been so named as it is believed that this is the spot where the Buraq was tethered while Prophet Muhammad ﷺ lead the prophets in prayer prior to his ascension (Mi’raj).
  • A ring was nailed to a wall in the Musjid to indicate where it is believed that the Buraq stood.
