Hazrat Sultan Mosque
- Following the recommendation of Nursultan Nazarbayev, the President of Kazakhstan, the Musjid was named “Hazrat Sultan.”
- Construction of the Musjid commenced in Astana in June 2009, employing between 1,000 and 1,500 workers at various stages. The Hazrat Sultan Mosque was inaugurated on July 6, 2012.
- Designed in a classical Islamic style and adorned with traditional Kazakh motifs, the Musjid is situated on the right bank of the Yesil River, adjacent to the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation, the “Kazakh Eli” monument, and Independence Square. It has the capacity to accommodate 5,000 Musallis and can host up to 10,000 during special holidays. The Musjid spans over 11 hectares, with a total constructed area of 17,700 square meters. Notably, Hazrat Sultan Mosque features the largest dome in Kazakhstan, standing 51 meters tall and measuring 28.1 meters in diameter at its base.
