Musjid Tawhid

Musjid Tawhid
  • Known as the Calleja de la Hoguera (Alley of the Bonfire) and situated close to the main Mosque of Cordoba, this winding alleyway dating back to Moorish times links the streets of Deanes and Céspedes.

  • Half-way along the alley is the Averroes Islamic University, where students follow courses in Arabic language, Islamic Sciences and Andalusi culture.

  • There is also a small musjid further up the alley which was built in the 12th century and recently restored. Musjid Tawhid or Los Andaluces Musjid is the only historic ‘Musjid’ in Cordoba that is still in use after having reopened in 2011.
