ABDULLAH IBN RAWAHA RA
  • Abdullah RA was one of the twelve members of the Ansar delegation who pledged their allegiance to the Prophet ﷺ at Aqabah. He was therefore one of those representatives who ushered Islam into Madinah and who paved the way for the hijrah (migration) thereafter.  
  • After the Prophet ﷺ and his Companions emigrated and settled in Madinah, Abdullah ibn Rawahah RA was one of the Ansaar who really strove to support the nascent Muslim community.
  • He was a scribe and, being ‘the poet of the Prophet ﷺ, he would condemn the actions of the polytheists while praising the Messenger ﷺ. He was often lauded by the Messenger ﷺ for his poetry and encouraged to continue.
  • He was also martyred during the battle of Mu’tah after having fought most courageously.
