MAQAM OF NABI YUSHA’ BIN NUN RA
  • When Musa AS passed away, the leadership of Bani Isra’il passed to Yusha ibn Nun AS. While Yusha is not mentioned by name in the Qur’an, he is the servant, companion and successor of Musa AS who is referred to in the following verse of the Qur’an:
  • “And Lo! (In the course of his wanderings) Musa AS said to his servant, I shall not give up until I reach the junction of the two seas, even if I (have to) spend untold years (in my quest)!’” 18:60
  • This ‘servant’ has been described by the Prophet ﷺ as Yusha ibn Nun.
  • It was only during his rule, that the Holy Land was returned to the Bani Isra’il – an event that wasn’t ordained to be during the rule of Musa or Harun AS.
  • The tomb which houses the site of Nabi Yusha AS lies in the town of Al-Salt today.
