MUSJID AL FAT’H , MADINAH
- West of Musjid Al Nabawi, is Masjid Al Fat’h which is situated at the foot of the Sila mountain and forms part of the complex known as ‘Masajid Al Sab’ah (The Seven Musjids).
- Built during the Umayyad Dynasty by the Khalifah Umar Ibn Abdul Aziz, it is said to be erected on the spot where the Prophet ﷺ had his tent set up during the Battle of Khandaq (Trench), in the 5th year after Hijrah.
- It gets its name from the ‘Fat’h’ (the Victory) the Muslims achieved over the confederates, after having been completely surrounded with all odds pinned against them.
- The Musjid is also known as Musjid Al Ahzab (The Musjid of the confederates).
