  • Located approximately 7km from Masjid Al Nabawi, Mount Uhud stands at a height of 1077
  • It was at the base of this mountain that the Battle of Uhud was fought, three years after the migration to Madinah, between the Muslims and the Quraysh of Makkah.
  • Seventy of the Blessed Companions RA were martyred during the battle and their graves are situated at the foot of the mountain. The gravesite is known as Maqbarah Shuhadah Uhud (the Graveyard of the Martyrs of Uhud).
  • With its colours ranging from red to brown, Mount Uhud is unique compared to the surrounding mountains and holds a special place in the hearts of the Muslims. After all, the Prophet ﷺ mentioned, “Uhud is a mountain that loves us and we love it too.”
