  • The fierce warrior and defender of Islam, Dhirar Bin Al Azwar Al Asadi RA  was born to one of the Bani Assad chieftains, Malik bin Aws.
  • He joined the Muslim forces as a regular soldier and rose in its ranks due to his bravery and foresight.
  • During the wars against the Sassanids and Byzantines, Khalid RA assigned him a prominent role which he fulfilled courageously.
  • He also fell victim to the Plague of Amwas like approximately 20 000 other Muslims and a musjid was built in his commemoration adjacent to his grave. The Musjid is located in the northern part of the Jordan Valley adjacent the mausoleum of Abu Ubaidah ibn al-Jarrah, in an area which witnessed the first battles between the Muslims and the Byzantine Empire.
