  • Another important site in Taif is the Al Qantara Musjid, which is located in the Mathnah neighborhood.
  • It is alleged that the farm opposite the Musjid is the area where the Prophet ﷺ rested after being stoned in Taif.
  • The Musjid was only built one and a half centuries ago but the building style ,inspired by Abbasid architecture, gives the impression of being much more ancient.
  • The Musjid is also famous for the Athan tower that appears like a cylinder and ends with a spherical peak. While the Musjid itself remains locked and isn’t opened for prayers, the minarets are accessible at times.
